DESCRIPTION
This 3-hour course is designed to introduce the students to Transit Packing Installation methods. The course is based on the Roxtec system of products known as multi-cable transits or MCT’s. MCT’s were first designed and produced in the 1950’s to protect against the hazards of water, fire, blast and smoke for shipboard/marine applications. The early adopters for these technologies were primarily naval engineers that required improved methods for sealing cables and pipes that passed through bulkheads and decks of navy vessels. Used for their safety features and benefits of having a cable transit that can be opened to add, remove and maintain electrical and control system cabling.
Students will be able to understand the function of the Roxtec Transit Packing system. They will learn the basic components of the system, follow the steps for a proper installation, learn tips and tricks for a quicker, easier installation, follow the steps for re-entering the system, and obtain proficiency in inspecting installations.
