Duties
- Negotiate, interpret and enforce collective agreements
- Responsible for organizing jurisdiction, N.S. and P.E.I.
- Delegate to Building Trades councils; N.S. and P.E.I.
- Trustee for Employee Health, Pension, and Electrical Training Trust Plans
- Oversee the Local’s dispatch, out of work books and Market Recovery Programs
- Manage the office, JATC training centre and Private Career College
- Attend construction units, manufacturing unit and executive meetings
- Attend council meetings, conferences and conventions on behalf of the local
- Uphold the Constitution of the IBEW and the rules and policies of the local
- Hire and manage staff for the office and training centre
- Represent each and every member equally and deal with their issues in a fair and just manner
I have been an IBEW member in good standing since Dec. 1979.
I was hired as the organizer for the local in Apr. 2002. Became the Assistant Business Manager in Oct. 2008. Elected Business Manager in June 2017.
Prior to being hired , I served on the executive board for 6 terms and as a steward on nearly every large industrial job I worked on.
I was elected by the delegates of the 40th IBEW convention to the position of IEC member for Canada in May 2022.
