DESCRIPTION

This 30-hour course is designed to provide the student with an overview of EMT, Rigid and PVC conduit bending procedures and installation methods. It is intended for students who have minimal or no conduit bending skills or for those who want to improve their existing skills in both small and large conduit fabrication. The focus of this course is to provide students with the fundamentals of conduit bending using both hand and mechanical bending through shop lectures and a hands-on opportunity to practice.

Students will learn the methodology of ‘practice precision’ while working with EMT, Rigid and PVC conduit ranging in size from ½” to 2”. This course also offers mathematical formulas, application techniques and safety procedures, and allows the student to familiarize themselves with common bending equipment and correct set-up and operation for the job site. Students will also be exposed to some of the most up to date and innovative equipment available.

Students will learn the characteristics and applications of the different types of conduit, fitting components and conduit supports. They will learn the procedures used to cut, thread and bend conduit; install and support conduit systems; and select and install conduit related components.
